Kimberly Gire is the Founder of Global Women Leaders Strategic Philanthropy and the Chair of the Centre for Global Equality at Cambridge. A career banking and finance senior executive, she was previously the CFO for the retail, business and private banking divisions of Westpac Banking Corporation and has worked extensively in the international capital markets with Citi.
Kimberly donates her professional skills and experience in capital markets, treasury, structured finance, social entrepreneurship and philanthropy to support humanitarian, development, climate and peace organisations. For example as: Special Advisor to the World Bank Famine Action Mechanism; Special Advisor and incoming Board Member for the Centre for Disaster Protection; High-Level Steering Group Member for the Education Outcomes Fund hosted by UNICEF and she is on the programming Board of the World Humanitarian Forum.
She set up Global Women Leaders to develop new philanthropic models, blended finance, Islamic social finance & philanthropy, and innovative financial tools to build ‘Global Public Goods’. She is an expert at convening networks for cross-collaboration to ensure new solutions are found with speed and at scale, to facilitate change in a complex world.
